"Oil type" is the name many buyers use for a surface grinder whose table is driven by oil hydraulics, rather than a mechanical rack or a servo drive. Every machine in the Prayosha PH series is an oil-type surface grinder.
How the oil hydraulic system works
An electric motor drives a pump that draws oil from the tank and supplies it at a working pressure of 20 kg/cm². A directional valve sends the oil to one side of the table cylinder, then the other. Solenoid valves switch the direction at the stroke ends, and cushioning at the ends of the cylinder makes the reversal soft. Table speed is adjustable from 5 to 25 m/min.
Hydraulic system by series
| Series | Models | Hydraulic motor (HP) | Tank (L) | Working pressure |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Premier | PH 818 – PH 1240 | 2 – 3 | 75 | 20 kg/cm² |
| Supreme | PH 1632 – PH 2060 | 3 – 5 | 75 – 150 | 20 kg/cm² |
| Jumbo / Jumbo Plus | PH 2448 – PH 32100 | 7.5 – 10 | 200 – 250 | 20 kg/cm² |
Why buyers still prefer oil-type grinders
- Smooth, stepless table speed and quiet reversals
- A simple system that most maintenance staff already understand
- Good value for toolroom and general job-shop work
- Available from compact to heavy long-bed sizes
Looking after the hydraulic oil
Keep the oil at the correct level, use the grade the manufacturer recommends, keep coolant and dirt out of the tank, and change the oil and filter at the intervals in the machine manual. Most table "jerk" problems start with contaminated or low oil.
Manufacturer, supplier and exporter
Prayosha Industries builds oil-type surface grinders in Ahmedabad and supplies them across India and for export. Choose a series: Premier, Supreme or Jumbo.
